What you asked us: Our Response:

I find great insecurity in ordering something without seeing at least a reasonable facsimile of the finished product, ie font, color, etc. Also the color brown seems to be a choice but it is not displayed. I was also confused by the term "custom" fonts. This sounds to me like a special order of some kind. I thought perhaps that I should upload a digital file of my text and font selection. There is no reason to worry about how your mug decoration will come out. We prepare a virtual mug layout and send it along as part of our order confirmation. This way you can actually see what your mug decoration will look like before you confirm your order as firm.
It is at this time that you can make further changes to your design ideas or digital images you indicated with your order. Please note that we might have to charge a small fee for any changes made at that point.
We can use any color for text.

The color brown is not indicated in our order form as indicating all available 16 million colors would make our order form larger still.

Custom fonts are fonts we do not have in our extensive font library or are shown in our order form. Hence you might have to send us a copy of any font we do not have on our systems.
When you want us to use your own fonts and font colors and text layout, please make sure that any such file has a resolution of at least 300 dpi's and is in the .tif of Adobe PhotoShop format for bitmap files. Vector files have no such requirement except that all fonts have to be converted to objects before sending them to us.

The mugs arrived today and as usual they look great. They were packed very well and as far as I can tell they all came through fine. I do have one comment and it's not really coming as a complaint but for your benefit. Somehow I never received an email stating that the order was complete and was being shipped so I had no tracking info either. I was going to email you on Monday asking about the status but the four boxes arrived this morning. Something fell thru the cracks but it turned out OK.
Thank you for your e-mail and we're very happy to hear that your mug order arrived on schedule.
You where sent four (4) e-mails, one for each package, directly from FedEx the day your mug order was shipped. It is very possible that your spam manager deleted these tracking e-mails from FedEx automatically, or that you deleted them as spam when they arrived at your e-mail address.
Please remember that all tracking information is sent directly from the shippers web site and hence will not have our giftmugs e-mail as sender.
We ourselves mark as "friend" all web sites that send tracking information, such as FedEx, UPS, USPS and others.
We hope that this answers your question as nothing "fell thru the cracks" from our side....as far as we know.
Please contact us, should you have further questions. Thank you.

Hello, when I upload my image for you guys to put on the mugs, does the image have to be to scale, or do you automatically scale up or down the image to fit on the mug?  Thank you. Digital images do not have to be in the final dimensions that appear on the finished, decorated coffee mugs. They can be larger - but never smaller - as we'll re-size down any image so that it will fit on the available area that can be decorated on our various mug sizes.

The important thing to remember is that any digital image and/or photo has sufficient resolution. We prefer a resolution of at least 300 dpi's for a digital file that has the dimensions that are to be printed on the finished coffee mugs.

For example, a digital image file in the .jpg format of, let's say, 18 inches by 12 inches with a resolution of only 72 dpi's can be transformed without any loss of quality to a digital image of these dimensions (for our 15-oz mugs, for example) of: 3.5" x 2.33" with a resolution of 300 dpi's.
This same file, when transformed to a dimension of 5.25" x 3.5" would only produce a printable file with a resolution of 246 dpi's - a border case that could still be used for the decoration of our coffee gift mugs.

I just wanted to thank you for my order I placed last week for 2- 15oz mugs (kellyfinal.bmp). I ordered mugs from your company about 3 years ago as a gift for my husband's military promotion and they turned out beautifully- still our favorite morning coffee mugs!! And these recent mugs are just as wonderful. They are a gift for a friend with her new business' logo on them, and I know she will love them!

I just have one suggestion. On the mugs I ordered for my husband, you had actually printed on the mug's bottom, your company name/website and the suggestion to hand wash the mug to preserve its beauty. However, on my most recent order, that same information is on a paper label on the bottom. Just as a tip for continued advertising after numerous washings,  it might be more beneficial to have your information permanently on the mug.

Thanks again for another great job. I will continue to use your website for special gifts, and refer friends and family to you as well!

Sincerely,
Erin Roof

Hello Erin Roof,

Thank you very much for your kind words about our full-color, custom-decorated, ceramic coffee mugs.

We're very pleased to learn that you like your mug decoration and that it came out the way you wanted. This is in great part thanks to you, as the artwork you submitted lent itself for a successful mug decoration. and are very pleased to hear that they met with your expectations.

With respect to your observation of our bottom label about hand-washing our mugs, permit us to say that we're no longer able to procure mugs with the statement imprinted permanently on them directly. Hence, we have to use the paper sticker label instead and hope that it will serve its intended purpose.

Again, thank you very much for your order and observations.

Hi, I sent you a quick PayPal order for a sample mug earlier today. Since I preferred always that you downsample rather than upsample my art rather than upload to your FTP space, I uploaded the art to MY website and sent you a link. I just want to make sure that this worked out OK and that your were able to retrieve the art.

Since then, by the way, I entertained myself no end reading all the comments to and from you in your comment forum. This made at least one comment in my order understandably misguided (the darkness of the image) so I'll just await the finished product with good humor. I'm beginning ot get an inkling what you folks are going through, and I wish you well!

One question: using your PayPal quick order form, do you still respond with a consent form or are we good to go?

Best wishes, Edward Haigh
Hello Edward Haigh,

Thank you for our PayPal order to which we normally never ever respond (as clearly indicted in all our PayPal order pages) except with the shipment of the ordered coffee mug(s) and the supply to your PayPal account with the respective package tracking information, once the order has shipped. Customers who require more should use our Full Service Order Form where we offer a wealth of options....too many, as some have said.

We had no problem whatsoever downloading the digital photo you hosted on your server and then to down-sample it to the optimal dimensions and resolutions.  BTW, We're very happy to hear that you actually consulted some of our extensive tips, suggestions and help web pages as they contain the combined wisdom of many on this subject. Hence, we conclude, the quality of the digital file you prepared and submitted. If only all our customers would follow your lead. The world might be a happier place...........

Your mug decoration should come out fine even though we cannot fathom what you might call "darkness" as others might as well call it as "rather too light" or "just right". As always this is in the eye of the beholder and only an actually decorated coffee mug with the digital image as submitted will permit our customers (and us) to evaluate the quality, merits and beauty of any finished mug decoration. Hence we always recommend ordering a sample mug first if color quality of the mug decoration is of prime importance.

Thank you for your mug order and observations and we hope that you'll like YOUR coffee mug decoration.

With best regards,
